Jasper Abels (Tubbergen, 1987) is a photographer and visual artist who started doing photography at an early age. After graduating from the Royal Academy of The Hague, he started working for a wide range of international customers and fashion magazines. He has a strong personal vision and explores boundaries in fashion & commercial photography, art installations, collage art and film.
During his childhood a fascination for nature, the shaping of images and the love for animals, mythical fairytales and creatures arose. With his eye for detail, he processes these themes in pictures of undefinable deep beauty. He combines different techniques, creating unique and recognizable images; colorful, minimalist and elegant. His work is often cross-border, authentic and magical due to the simplicity found in quantity.
His work has been published in magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Mirror Mirror, Vanity Fair, ELLE and Glamour. He has also created iconic work for Dior, Schiaparelli, Chanel, Miu Miu, L’Óreal and Rituals.
